Retranchement, on the border between the Netherlands and Belgium, is a popular stopping point for the many cyclists and walkers who explore the Zwin region. Situated along the canal and surrounded by former defensive walls from the early 1600s, in the middle of a beautiful nature reserve and close to the beaches of Cadzand-Bad, Retranchement charms many.
This house was built in 1929 and has been modernised over the years with respect for the authentic elements. With the beautiful balance between the modern and the authentic, the character of the house comes into its own.
Upon entering, your eye is immediately drawn to the authentic stone floor. The hall is furnished with a wardrobe and provides access to the bright living room overlooking the canal and the Zwinstraat. The living room has a wooden floor and is furnished with a large wall of fixed furniture and offers space for a cozy sitting and dining area.
Continuing on we come to the fully equipped country kitchen with beautiful stone floor. The kitchen is equipped with gas cooker with double oven, extractor, dishwasher, sink, granite worktop and plenty of storage. From here you have a view of the nature reserve along the canal and the south-west facing, deep garden.
