The Siphon (or Siphon) is located in the municipality of Damme at the point where the Damse Vaart is crossed by two parallel canals: the Schipdonk Canal and the Leopold Canal. It is named after the hydraulic engineering works that functioned there until the First World War: the siphons.
Situated in a nature reserve, the landscape here is unique and is strongly determined by the tall poplars along the three canals and by the wildly overgrown median strip between the two drainage canals. Views over the fields and the water characterise the peace and green landscape here.
