Additional information about the property
Near the Siphon, along the Damse Vaart, lies this detached countryhouse that needs to be refreshed and that has great potential to become a very spacious home.
The Siphon (or Siphon) is located in the municipality of Damme at the point where the Damse Vaart is crossed by two parallel canals: the Schipdonk Canal and the Leopold Canal. It is named after the hydraulic engineering works that functioned there until the First World War: the siphons.
Situated in a nature reserve, the landscape here is unique and is strongly determined by the tall poplars along the three canals and by the wildly overgrown median strip between the two drainage canals. Views over the fields and the water characterise the peace and green landscape here.
This detached farmhouse, the former restaurant "De Bruegel", is located on a plot of approx. 7080 m². The ground floor comprises a luminous lounge of 98 m² equipped with a bar, decorative fireplace and grill. French doors open onto the south-facing terrace with a view of the fields. The closed kitchen area of 26 m² provides access to the indoor garages. Under the stairs to the first floor is a spacious wine cellar with good headroom and an upstairs room ideal as an office space.
The first floor of approx. 108 m² is divided into a landing with cupboard space, long corridor with four spacious bedrooms, a bathroom with bathtub, toilet and washbasin and a shower room with shower, toilet and washbasin. One of the bedrooms has its own kitchen area. All rooms have parquet floors.
The house has two indoor garages of respectively 60 m² and 18 m² and a separate, from the outside accessible,
storage space accessible from the outside. Above the garage, where the central heating system, a separate cold store and the water pump system are located, there is another room of about 60 m² under the roof, which can be converted.
The surrounding garden is well maintained with a spacious terrace around the house and equipped with electric lighting. Several lawns with landscaped borders adorn the front garden. Behind the house there is a small herb garden with a vine along the wall and a fig tree for the Southern fruits. The rest of the garden is laid to lawn.
On private property there is ample parking, a separate shed, wood shed and dog run.
Perfectly located in a quiet and rural area at a stone's throw from Damme, Bruges and Knokke and close to the exit roads to the major cities. Convince yourself of the possibilities of this farmhouse during a visit!
